So many possibilities. Bleaching/Ombré party on my roof this Sunday, who’s in? #DIYfallfashion (Taken with Instagram)
I’ve started up-cycling for Film Biz Recycling in Gowanus. They were looking for volunteers and since one can only DIY so much in their own home I thought it would be fun to work on some projects that weren’t just for me. FBR gives you free reign of the warehouse to pull from and you are invited to use all their tools and materials! I’m still trying to adjust to the space but everyone there is really friendly and I’m sure it will feel like a second home soon enough.
The sweatshirt is a Pinterest project I’ve been wanting to try and FBR has TONS of fabric to play with. It was unbelievably easy so I will actually be recreating this for myself soon.
This weekend I finished up-cycling a beat up wicker tea cart which is now covered in houndstooth fabric and has a fancy new grey sheen.
The bracelets were born out of a “Make It Thursday” project, which is the DIY series we (Elizabeth Kingman and I) started at the museum. Kat Roberts of the We Can Re-Do It blog taught us how to cover old bangled this way and I’m obsessed.
What do you think?
I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been traveling abroad with these guys. Check out their latest video for a PopRally event at MOMA next month. CHERYL was going for a mannequin look so I sewed elastic strips to their uni-tards where their joints would be and added some Ken Doll undies. I had a lot of fun styling and spraying the wigs for this. It was really cold and windy the day I sprayed which caused me some grief but I think they look pretty f-ing cool in the video. I can’t wait to make more for the event!
